Ruyi and Lyn.

Ruyi and Lyn is already winning due to their creativity, giving a twist in chinese cuisine by modernizing it.

The chinese restaurants I often go to always has bright lights and red table cloth. Not to mention that they have a huge stage in front with floral-dragon kinda decoration. But Ruyi and Lyn has a freaking well-equip DJ booth at the stage? I was really surprise at what I see there. I can never get over it. They even have a runway at the entrance which makes you feel like a superstar.

The runway when you first enter.

Their menu shines - so good selfie pictures.

Instead of classic crackers they serve at the usual chinese restaurants, Ruyi&Lyn serves pickled appetizers which was good because I like sour stuff.

Ruyi's Famous Sushi at RM43

This is a must order because this dish is the one that make them all famous. They made Hainanese Chicken Rice, Nasi Lemak and Mango Sticky Rice in sushi form. This portion is really fine that I think is only for a picture purpose. The taste wise was okay. I personally love the Mango Sticky Rice the best.

Instead of ordering ala carte, we decided to go for set menu since it's perfectly planned by the restaurant. We could not make up our minds of what we should order on the menu because the way they name their dishes makes us goes WOW.
They have a set menu with 4 different price range which is RM88++, RM 118++ , RM138++ and chef's gourmet at RM168++
( Hm, I am not sure if they have change the price though)

Since we already have the sushi, we chose 6 course meals at RM88++ , which is absolutely yummy.

Look at the pictures below.

Cupid's Cigarllios .

Crabmeat and mushrooms roll.

Datin's Desire.

I swear that this bowl is filled with goodness. Pan seared scallop with tofu which makes a thick blend tofu soup extraordinary!

A plus for them, because I love having soups as appetizers.

Smokey Chicken.

Roasted chicken which was topped with their special sauce. I keep wondering how did they maintain the crispiness after pouring gravy over.

Pokemon Prawns !

This is my favourite of all!

Mango and Ebiko deep fried with wasabi and the never go wrong , mayo. I cannot explain how tasty it is. I swear that you have to taste it yourself.

a  M U S T  order.

Journey to the West.

Truffled infused fried rice with shrimps and mushrooms. Thumbs up for the 'wok' taste.

and lastly,

La Dolce Vita

Panna Cotta with raspberry. Panna Cotta was really smooth and I am so glad that their raspberry sauce are made fresh.

Overall, it was a good dining experience because I never expected so much from a Chinese cuisine. Personally, I would still prefer to the old classic Chinese style of restaurant where the whole family gathers together with a round table topped with red cloth , having rice and different dishes together. It makes me feel that it brings the togetherness.

Ruyi and Lyn would be a different environment serving the same dishes ( Well, they have some western fusion) you could easily find in Chinese restaurant. It depends on what kind of environment you want to be in. Either way, the food is so good.

Before I end this post,
my food companion of all times! :D

Kingston Upon Hull.

#1

This is one of the most beautiful building in Hull City Centre. This is Maritime Museum which I have yet to visit. And I believe that this will be the trademark of Hull City. I'll bring whoever that visit me in Hull to snap a picture, lol.

And now I am here to tell you my journey to hull - It.was.so.dreadful.

#2

Filter level x10000000000

#3

All mine.

#4

My luggage was really heavy. Until now, I don't even know what I bring because it seems like I'm still lacking of everything.

It was a hassle to take tubes. I was dragging my luggage with my aunty. We have to change stops before we leave to King Cross to catch our train to Hull.

#5

#6

Free treats since it's their 15th anniversary.

It takes almost three hours from London to Hull. However, I took a direct train so the journey was shorter than that. Hull Trains are good - they have free wifi! hahaha.

#7

This drawer is probably the treasure. I don't even know why I bring so much here because I hardly eat them until now. However, they are a taste of home when I'm really homesick.
Compare to them, I'd prefer to pack my ahma in my luggage.

#8

Have I told you guys that I love avocados?

I get very enthusiastic when it comes to preparing breakfast.

#9

Simple breakfast before I kick start my day.

I always insist to eat breakfast before I leave for anything. I will wake up earlier to make breakfast. Or even when I'm running out of time, I'll have a bowl of muesli or cereal. There is so many kind of cereals in the UK which I want to try. Also, the flavours they have for chips are insane.

#10

Before leaving the house - currently obsessed with stripes.

Black is always my first choice - if not, it will be monochrome colours.

#11

Autumn.

#12

Strolled around the streets in the neighborhood.

The weather was lovely.

#13

And finally heading to the city to get the things I need;

#14

Maritime Museum.

#15

Totally love this picture.

I mean it when I told you that the weather is lovely. Look at all the fluffy cotton candy clouds.

#16

#17

Albert's Dock.

I swear that I didn't filter this.

#18

I love this picture of my aunty.

I really wonder how could I make it if I am alone. I came without any friends , choosing another path from them. Not to mention that, Hull is really far away from wherever they are. So I feel so blessed to have her with me throughout the whole journey. I don't think I could carry anything myself up north without her help. Not to mention that she bought me so many things - even if it is unnecessary.

gosh, so blessed.

#19

agreed.

#20

And also had my first brunch in Hull the other day.

The Brunch Waffle with a classic cup of black coffee.

The English here prefers black coffee over anything else. I used to love Cappucino , however I could not handle the calorie count so I switched to Americano or Long Black. My friends look at me in a kind when I tell them I wanted black coffee. It may be too bitter for people, but I love the originality of it.

#21

#22

yay, my dimples are back!

After brunch, I strolled around the street - knowing that they have little vintage shops.

#23

#24

#25

#26

I appreciate little shops like this. And everything they are selling are handmade, and self-designed. The price are slightly higher than what you can find in the malls. Well, we are paying for effort and creativity.

#27

beautiful sight of Maritime Museum when the sky turns dark.

#28

La vie en rose.

No filter photograph.

Gosh, the pink skies here are so beautiful.

#29

This will be a different path in life and a starting of a new journey. Some things are moving on, some things will be left behind. It only matters what you bring along.

I hope that it's going to be 'hull' of a year.

Hence, London.

#1

Fluffy clouds from my transit in Netherlands to London - without any filter.

It was a rush and a huge mess before I arrive in the UK. I did my packing just a few days before and only bring my essentials. I bought extra luggage weight which costs me a bomb.

My leave to the UK was not as lively as other people. I only had a few of my family members to send me to the airport when I wanted them to just drop me. That sounded so casual. To be honest, my family is pretty casual about these things because we are raised to be independent. However, we still had McDs in the airport until I leave.
And I did not feel anything much - probably numb about a lot of things. It will be a lie if I didn't leave with a heavy heart.

#2

The first thing I do when I arrive Heathrow.
We all know that Costa is only available in the UK.

My aunt pick me up from the airport and headed to her place to freshen up before lunch.

#3

yums.

#4

I had my first afternoon tea experience at Pastisserie Valerie on the very first day.

They serve super good scones however, they do not have the whipped cream that I love. They are famous for their cakes which I ought to try - too many choices available.

#5

It was so good. Hence, takeaway!

#6

There is a day where I travel to London city alone which was approximately half an hour away from where I stay. I brought the maps with me incase I get lost. Tbh, their tube lines are very complicated. It took me awhile to read the map - however, I manage to make it to where I am supposed to meet my friends from Oxford.

#7

Fish and Chips for lunch, and it was bad. It's right beside the London Eye which is flooded with people. However, the chicken was better off though.

#8

#9

#10

This is so beautiful.

My friends and I was looking at this view and think, Wow we made it here together.

It was pretty dramatic at one point. But it feels nice to be one of the dream city of the world.

#11

So, wassup London.

#12

#13

#14

#15

My hair is everywhere because the wind is so strong.

I can't believe they travel down for a day during the weekdays just to see me before I left to Hull. And all of us were in black - however, Andrew took off his jacket so the picture didn't turn out in sync.

So much love.

Black is my favourite colour for clothings , lol.

#16

This is a beautiful picture because a random couple is in it. lol.

#17

#18

Look at how beautiful this is.

#21

So, this is the legendary London Bridge.

#22

#23

Super love this candid picture.

This was taken at Oxford Street- the shopping heaven of the city.

#27

I always announce that I do not like chocolates.

But, godiva is an exception.

I will never choose chocolate flavour if I were given a choice to choose for ice creams or candies. But godiva made it so gooooood. Dark Chocolate will be the best selling one in store. I don't think I can handle this chocolate business so I have the mix of black and white instead.

It was so gooood.

#28

#29

Besides pizza, ice cream is always the answer.

#30

On the way to Borough Market ;

#31

#32

#33

Heavenly fresh made breads in Borough Market.

#36

Covent Garden.

#37

#38

Famous Roast of Four Seasons in Chinatown; I wish I could take a yummier picture. This doesn't do any justice at all.

The charsiew was so good that it makes me flatter. I'm not even exaggerating.

#39

Strolling around the streets, enjoying the beautiful sky.

We can never have this back home.

#40

We have pink skies almost everyday and it makes me happy.

London is a very beautiful city. And probably, it's already one of my favourite on the list already. Now, I'm settled in Hull - and, already went back to London twice because I miss the city so much. I can't wait to visit all the independent cafes and little stores which I've research all these while.

I'll make it through - and grow.

love.
