Bean Brothers.

Every month, there is a new cafe coming up in town. And I usually list them down in my notes. Besides having good quality beans based coffee, I am looking for a spacious and quiet cafe. Some of the cafes major in food for brunch, some for coffee and some is just the ambiance ( which I will never revisit again ) .

Bean Brothers , which originates from Korea is not something unfamiliar.
It is located around the factory area in Kota Damansara. Many people find this place oddly located , which I think it is a good choice because it is secluded - which means less noise, less busy. I am not sure about how it is like on the weekends because I usually visits on the weekdays. I found this place perfect for one to have alone time, to study, or even have a short catch up with friends.

The interior is simple, and beautiful. It is really comfortable since it is spacious. I like how they leave fair amount of distance between tables.

They have two floors. Downstairs are more lively and upstairs are more quiet. I chose to sit upstairs since we will be in the cafe for quite sometime.

Besides the interior,
I think they serves really good coffee - as in just pure black coffee.

I spilled my coffee.

Many cafes buy beans from the same retailers. However, Bean Brothers has their own house blends.

We tried both of their house blends.

The Velvet White blend which is on the left gives a fruity tea-like aroma. While the Black Suit gives nutty taste. Their house blends include Ethiopian, Brazilian & Guatemalan beans..

Personally, I prefer Black Suit instead of Velvet White. For me, I think fruity taste should be going with tea instead of coffee.

Wow. I just realize that coffee is taken seriously here.

They also have other types of coffee , where I would recommended their latte preferably, iced.

Nope, it's not banana cake - its earl grey cake - which I think that it's good.

Besides good coffee and cakes on the shelves, they do serve food. However, their kitchen closes at 430pm.

Egg Benedict.

Avocado Toast.

We actually came for brunch. Their food choices are pretty little, and with the price that we are paying, there are better brunch places outside. I would recommend this place only for coffee breaks instead of brunch.

Brunch situation.

And some other pictures of each corner , upstairs.

This is a long overdue post but I need to share this place with you.

Detox.

It's going to be the half of 2018 in less than a month time.

Looking back, I think my 2018 is pretty great. Besides needing to adapt to the odd working hours , I think I've grew a lot - and I didn't mean sideways only.
I met a lot of new people through this experience. I earned a lot of friendship. I still don't get why people say , we can never built friendship in work. They are the ones I see 5 out of 7 days, and they are also the reason for me to go to work.

I don't know if anyone realize this but there are some people I am slowly fading away from. I realize that feeding the soul with good vibes is too important. Life is too short and I refuse to please anyone. I am so sick of putting their convenience before mine, and prioritize their emotions before mine. I also realize that , it is not my duty to be there for people just because they are my 'friends'. Friendship goes both ways - and if it is not reciprocated, I don't see it going anywhere.
If they don't realize this is happening between us , then I know where I stand.
It's a win-win situation for me too.

So yeah,
Detoxing toxic people out of your life is important.

This sounds incredibly selfish. But this is the outcome of not feeling appreciated after being selfless too many times.
Because at the end of the day, you only have yourself . You are the only one who can make the decision, to decide if you want to be happy or just stay where you are and doubt your self-worth. You are worth so much more.

I desperately want to go on a holiday - a getaway.
I feel like I need to breathe. This city sometimes suffocates me, and I don't know why. I wouldn't consider this as working stress. I just feel that there are a lot of things I wish to get off my shoulders for a little while. They aren't heavy, but still tiring.

So I have been wondering - is this why they say that adulting is hard?

Miss Ellie Tea House

This tea house deserves a post right on my space.
Not to mention, I traveled 45 minutes to this place.

I think visiting a cafe is such a luxury now. Besides having no time , it is really hard to find someone since everyone is busy with work.

Miss Ellie Tea House ,
should not be foreign to anyone especially to those who are into cafes. This place is not a cafe , and also not a bakery. I could not find the correct term for this place. They serve food and cakes. They are really different from those hipster places you guys will ever come across.

It is located in a row of shop lots in the middle of the housing area ; and it took us a while to find it.

The interior of the place reminds me so much of UK - particularly, a homey cafe down the street where I always hang out in, in Hull.

It reminds me of the good ol' times there.

I absolutely love the decorations , and the soft music they play at the background.

Instead of tea, we chose filtered coffee which is good. I guess the beans must be from IKEA. IKEA coffee beans is actually not bad , but unfortunately, not many people liked them.

Orange Flourless Seed Cake for starters - which is only at RM6.

It is not huge - but good enough for one.

It taste alot like sponge cake, but more compact since there is no flour. It's not sweet at all!

Tikka Shephard's Pie at RM16.90

The portion is just enough for one. I give it a 10/10 for the taste. The ingredients used are hearty. It is topped with chunky mashed potato with a layer of cheese. I love how they leave chunks inbetween the potatoes. I usually get total mashed potatoes.

and here is the highlight,

their scones!

Their scones are baked fresh daily. They have four available flavours - plain, raisin, chocolate and oats. Depending on the flavour, it is priced at RM4-RM4.50 each. You can get a set consisting, a pair of scones with the flavour you desire and butter and cream at only RM10.90.

It is really cheap compared to other places.

Their scones are really good. Our choices were the oats and the plain ones.

It is a MUST order.

I love how dim the place is. It's comfortable.

It was so good that I ordered another set.

It is difficult to find good scones around town. Even hotels couldn't make scones like that.

till then.
